CANTERBURY — The Canterbury Volunteer Fire Company’s published monthly statistics list 70 calls for September 2026: 51 emergency medical calls, 16 fire calls and three motor-vehicle accidents.

The same table lists 64 calls for September 2025, making the current September total six calls higher. These are the company’s reported categories, not an independent count of incidents or injuries.

The company says it provides round-the-clock fire and EMS service across Canterbury’s 40.1 square miles. Its website continues to seek volunteers and links to its recruitment information.

The annual figures should be read cautiously: the current table shows June 2026 as zero and does not explain that entry. October and later zero entries are not treated as completed-month totals. This report concerns the published September figures only.
