KILLINGLY — Downtown Danielson’s fourth annual Spooktacular Lights & Sights is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, with trick-or-treating, a Davis Park block party and a Halloween light parade. The organizer lists Sunday, October 25, as the rain date.
The Killingly Business Association will host Main Street trick-or-treating from 4–6p.m.; its website identifies that portion as intended for children 12 and younger. Killingly Parks and Recreation’s Davis Park party runs during the same two-hour period, with music by Secret Lita, face painting, a bonfire, food vendors and a lighted drumming circle. Catnip Junkies are also scheduled to perform along Main Street.
The light parade is scheduled to start at 6:15p.m. from the old Killingly High School on Westfield Avenue, travel along Main Street, turn left onto Water Street and finish at the St. James School parking lot. Participants must preregister; the organizer says money from parade registrations will go to the Friends of Assisi Food Pantry.
Main Street is expected to close to traffic around 3:45p.m. and reopen after the parade. The full organizer announcement does not state general admission or vendor prices. Residents should check the official event page for changes, registration details and weather updates.
