NORTHERN NEW LONDON COUNTY — The National Weather Service issued a frost advisory at 2:15 p.m. Sunday, October 18, for 2–8 a.m. EDT Monday, October 19. Temperatures could fall to 33°F.
The advisory covers the Northern New London forecast zone, not the entire county or its southern coast. Northern Fairfield, New Haven and Middlesex counties are also included.
NWS advises protecting tender plants because frost can damage sensitive vegetation. A frost advisory concerns vegetation and is distinct from an extreme-cold warning.
Sunday morning’s separate freeze warning ended at 9 a.m. Monday’s advisory concerns a new overnight period, not an extension of the expired warning.
