WATERFORD — Police arrested a New London man after witnesses reported that he intentionally drove a Jeep into two vehicles in the Waterford Beach parking lot on October 10, according to the department’s full release.
Waterford Police said dispatch received several 911 calls at 3:17 p.m. and responding officers took Ryan Ziolkowski, 53, into custody. The department identifies the incident as CFS 2600039103.
The official release lists two counts of risk of injury to a minor; three counts of second-degree reckless endangerment; violation of a standing criminal protective order; violation of a protective order; second-degree breach of peace; impaired driving; reckless driving; and driving with a suspended license. The department’s list confirms that it reported both protective-order allegations, resolving a difference between earlier news accounts.
At the October 13 court appearance, Judge John Newson raised bond to $1.25 million and granted no-contact orders, according to WFSB’s updated report. The station reports that prosecutors presented additional information about the alleged collisions and that the defense acknowledged other pending cases could affect bond. Eastern CT News has not independently obtained the hearing record.
WFSB reports a November return to court but does not give an exact date. Its new account supersedes the previously reported initial police bond only as an attributed report of the hearing; present custody has not been independently verified.
All charges remain allegations, not convictions. No minor or protected person is identified. The original police charge list is retained as originally released and is not presented as a verified current amended docket.
